What I love about art is that there is a never ending supply of subject matter. When I’m in my studio I feel alive and often so focused into my subject that often I’m not aware of what’s going on around me. I love working with color and enjoy learning something new. I learn so much from other artists and enjoy the exchange that occurs when artists get together. This is especially beneficial when I experience those times of low energy.

What attracts me to a subject is something that generates an emotion in me. All creation has personality I am fascinated by nature and people. Nature is moody. Light can be clear, colorful, soft, muted or dramatic and bold. Morning light and afternoon light usually influence the same scene differently. Water is featured in a lot of my work. I also love the innocence of children as well as the character found in many adult faces. Facial expression and body language speaks volumes. My goal is to continue to evolve as an artist and be part of the creative process.
